English – is a language of international communication, it is common knowledge everywhere. Today 80% of the world information is in English. English is the official language in 75 countries of the world. About one billion people speak English as the second language. 90% of school students of the European Union study and communicate in English rather fluently.

Popularity of this language has a very simple explanation. French is incredibly beautiful and melodious. And it is not surprising that for centuries it is considered the language of cultural, well-educated people. After all, you will find in any European language a lot of the borrowings from French relating to culture, architecture, painting, theater, dance, cookery, and fashion.
The total number of people speaking Polish is over 45 million. It is the most widespread Western Slavic language. Except Poland, it is spoken in the USA, France, Canada, Great Britain, German, Czech Republic, South America, Belorussia and Ukraine.
The Polish language has greatly influenced the evolution of Ukrainian, Belarusian, and Russian. A good deal of Polish words was borrowed from German, French, and Czech languages. This language is beautiful and distinctive. It is different from other Slavic languages as some unique features have been kept in it.
Russian is one of the most widely spoken languages in Europe. There are over an 170 million native speakers all over the world. The majority of Russian language speakers live in the Russia. It is also spoken in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Byelorussia, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ukraine.
Russian is spoken by emigrant communities in Israel, United States, Canada, and other countries. The language was taught in Eastern Europe countries, including Bulgaria, Hungary, German Democratic Republic, Poland, Romania, and Czechoslovakia.
The Russian language has a colourful cultural past. It is the language of famous writers Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, of great composers Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky.
Now the Russian language is becoming important in business and trade.
Ukrainian has a long nearly a thousand year’s history, rich and influenced by Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, and Russian. A number of Nobel Prize Ukrainian speaking winners contributed to the world of science, economy and literature.
It is spoken by about 51 million people in Ukraine and other countries, such as Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova and Transnistria, Paraguay, Poland, Romania, Russia and Slovakia.
Ukrainian took the second prize as the most melodious language after Italian and the third as the most beautiful language in the world according to phonetics, vocabulary, phraseology and sentence structure after French and Persian at the Linguistic Contest held in Paris in 1934.
The language, spoken today for nearly 25 years after the declaration of Ukraine’s official language, has been striving for excellence and originality within the family of European languages.
The course of a foreign language is an opportunity to raise your rating in the professional world. Modern life assumes active international integration.
